Dates and Times
Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October, pre-conference workshops on Wednesday 20th.
The theme of the conference: “The 20th anniversary of Nurse Practitioners in New Zealand; celebrating our anniversary and looking ahead to being a key part of health care’s future”
Masterton in the Wairarapa is home to the Copthorne resort and conference centre. It is only an hour and a half drive or train ride away from our capital city Wellington or an hour’s drive from Palmerston North.
Both airports (Wellington and Palmerston North) are well connected with domestic flights and have rental car options. Wellington has many flights across the ditch for our Australian friends.
Travelling by car would involve a scenic drive along SH2 through the Remutaka pass from Wellington, or a slightly shorter journey but equally stunning trip over the hills from Palmerston North.
The train option from Wellington takes you through the longest passenger rail tunnel in the country.
If you are travelling by train and advise us of your arrival time via the Contact Us tab and we can arrange for a shuttle to collect you and take you to the hotel.

Thursday evening (21st Oct) a woolshed 20th anniversary party – in true Wairarapa style we will host a night to remember in the Beetham Family’s 550sqm historic (but still working) woolshed.
This eight stand woolshed has stood proudly on Gladstone’s rolling hills for over 100 years, it would be scrubbed up and cleaned out, you can smell the lanolin and rural goodness and there is a chandelier already hanging between the graffitied rafters where generations of shearers have left their mark. Transport included to/from Copthorne Resort. The best dance band has been booked as the floor boards are well seasoned in hosting a night of dancing and merriment.
Local outside caterers Providore have already wowed us with a mouth-watering menu which would treat us to platters of delicious local fare to pass and share around on our tables. There will be a Cash Baaaa! in addition to local Wairarapa wine (& water) being available on the tables.
